K2 Stairlift

Our best-selling stairlift

Our popular K2 stairlift offers a simple design and reliable rack and pinion performance. Built with a slim profile, it folds up to less than 11″ from the wall to leave room on the stairs when not in use. Comfortable and easy to use, it accommodates up to 350 lb and features width-adjustable armrests. The K2 takes only a few hours to install on either side of your stairs, and is battery powered with built-in charging.

Space-saving design

A stairlift that is slim, strong and simple

Great for even narrow staircases, the Savaria K2 folds up compactly when not in use, making it easier to access the stairs for those not using the stairlift. The folded depth is 10 ¾” from the wall with the standard L seat. If you choose the optional V seat the depth when folded is 11 ¼”.

Standard features and finish

  • 1. The lift features cream white powder coat paint and beige seat covering
  • 2. You can control the stairlift with the toggle on the armrest
  • 3. A master shut-off switch allows you to turn off power if you are away for long periods of time to extend battery life and save power
  • 4. The seat, footrest, and arms fold up to keep the lift compact when not in use
  • 5. Comes with two infrared remote controls which allow you to summon the lift up or down as needed
  • 6. LED diagnostic lights provide information on issues with the lift
  • 7. The K2 operates on battery power with built-in charging at the top and bottom of the stairs. If there is a power failure, the stairlift will provide several up and down trips

Additional Options

Rail Extension Brackets

If you have a door near the top landing of your stairlift, rail extension brackets can be added to reduce the intrusion of the rail.

Manual Flip-up

If you have a door close to the bottom of the rail, you can add a manual flip-up rail to eliminate the tripping hazard of the rail intrusion.

Emergency Stop

An emergency stop button can be added to the armrest.

Outdoor package

If you live in a moderate climate, the K2 can be installed outside. Choose the outdoor package which includes a stainless-steel rack and support legs, and zinc-coated hardware for added weather resistance. The seat is UV-rated and water repellent, with closed cell foam cushion. Two radio-frequency (RF) controls are included along with a chair cover. The upgraded battery provides a longer lasting charge for weather variations.

K2 Seat Options

The K2 offers the L seat (arms width: 17.24 – 20.39″), a traditional shape chair in beige wipe-clean vinyl with toggle switch at the end of the armrest to control up/down.
The V seat (arms width: 16.85 – 19.2″) features a more open back, which some people find more comfortable if more space is needed on the seat. The V seat includes a large toggle switch on the top of the armrest for movement control.

Safety features

  • An obstacle sensor on the footrest and carriage stops the lift if it encounters an obstruction.
  • The seat swivels and locks for safe deboarding at the top of the stairs.
  • The footrest includes non-skid covering and the seat includes a retractable seat belt.
  • An overspeed brake prevents the chair from traveling too fast down the rail.
